Our Counseling Services:
A mental health counselor is a medical professional who helps patients achieve emotional wellness, typically with one-on-one talk therapy. Mental health professionals work with many different types of clients and get to know the people they treat personally on a level few others get to know.
Counselors often see patients on an ongoing basis as one part of a treatment plan. These professionals work with a variety of patients and may specialize in areas such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.
The treatment we offer:
- Individual Therapy for Stress, Anxiety, and Depression
- Couples Therapy
- Troubled Teens
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Eating Disorders
- Anger Management
- ...and more
Who Can Benefit from Counseling?
Anyone can benefit from counseling services! Talk therapy is a fantastic resource that can improve quality of life at any age. Simply having an impartial listener can be an important first step in the journey toward healing and self-acceptance.
We teach valuable coping strategies for all sorts of situations, helping our patients to navigate their personal struggles with renewed awareness and confidence. At any age and regardless of your personal background, counseling can be a pivotal asset to your overall health.
What Will a Counselor Do?
First and foremost, a counselor will talk to you. He or she will ask you questions about your goals and current concerns that you would like to address. You will discuss options for attaining these goals.
It is important to remember that your counselor will not TELL you what to do. He or she will make suggestions for changes you can make in your daily life to help you reach your goals. You will be partners as you try various techniques for addressing your needs.
The number of sessions will also be something you determine together. Mental health is complicated, and your exact treatment plan will depend on a lot of factors.
There are many, many goals we have helped address in the past. We are passionate about helping our patients take control of their mental health and, in doing so, regain their quality of life. Some of the issues we help patients with include:
- Coping mechanisms
- Communication skills
- And much more
We utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques supported by positive exercises you will complete outside of counseling. We may ask you to keep a journal, for example, or try deep breathing and meditation. Again, you will work with your counselor to create a highly personalized plan that is for you and no one else.
